Falkirk Writers' Circle Competitions

The Falkirk Writers' Circle organises both open and closed competitions on an annual basis.

Open competitions are run in connection with the annual seminar held at the Falkirk Tryst Festival in May. Entry is available to non-members or members of the Falkirk Writers' Circle. There is an entry fee for each competition, in addition to the cost of the seminar itself. Entrants are expected to attend the seminar.

Closed competitions are restricted to members of the Falkirk Writers' Circle. There is no entry fee. They involve pieces submitted anonymously and are judged externally. Judges will usually attend on a particular day in order to deliver and explain their judgement. Criticism is always constructive.
